LAG is a pioneer of the European aluminium fuel tanker semi-trailer. The elliptical tank offers a large volume with a low centre of gravity and stable road holding, with 1 to 9 compartments. Box-section versions are built for the Benelux market, and circular and elliptical cross-sections for the rest of Europe.

Fuel tanker trailer
17–25 m³ (Benelux) or 35–45 m³ (Scandinavia)
A drawbar tank trailer coupled behind a truck-mounted fuel body. LAG designs it with a box-section or elliptical tank to match the body and the truck; the Benelux version has 2 or 3 axles, the Scandinavian version 4 or 5.

Aluminium fuel tank for a truck chassis, regardless of the truck make and number of axles. The tank comes in a box-section or elliptical version and can be completed with a matching trailer to form a road train.

What to know before choosing
Why are fuel tanks made of aluminium?
An aluminium tank has a lower tare weight, so more fuel can be carried for the same gross weight. According to the manufacturer, LAG introduced the aluminium tanker in Europe in 1958 and built the first European aluminium fuel tanker semi-trailer.
How many compartments can a LAG fuel tanker have?
The semi-trailer with elliptical cross-section can be configured with 1 to 9 compartments. The number and volume of the compartments depend on the number of products delivered and the typical drop sizes.
What is the difference between an elliptical and a circular tank?
According to the manufacturer, the elliptical shape gives a better weight distribution and a lower centre of gravity than a circular cross-section, which means more stable road holding. A box-section version is also built for the Benelux market.
