Interpump power take-off (PTO) for ZF, Mercedes, Scania and Volvo gearboxes
Which PTO does your tractor unit need? The gearbox type, retarder or intarder, installation space and driven equipment decide; we put the kit together on that basis and install it.

PTO for ZF gearboxes
For manual, automatic, intarder and TraXon gearboxes
Interpump PTO kit for tractor units with ZF gearboxes in direct (cube) or offset (angle drive) versions; the offset version helps where space behind the gearbox is limited. The kit contains the shift unit, the shaft for the gearbox type, the mounting kit and the switch.
| Gearboxes | ZF manual and automatic, with or without intarder, TraXon, AS-Tronic, Ecosplit, Ecomid |
|---|---|
| Version | direct (cube) or offset (angle drive) |
| P81Z1 unit | direct, 1:1, 800 Nm |
| P86Z1 unit | offset, 1:1.8, 350 Nm |
| P88Z6 unit | reinforced, for continuous operation, 1:1.8, 450 Nm – for shaft-driven compressors |
Optional equipment (selection)
- TraXon shaft kit (K694, K697)
- AS-Tronic / INT+3 shaft kit
- ZF 86 Ecosplit / Ecomid mounting kit
- DIN 100 propshaft flange adapter
Typical tasks: hydraulics for tippers, moving floors, cranes and winches, or a shaft-driven compressor on a tractor unit with a ZF gearbox.

PTO for Mercedes-Benz gearboxes
Cube and angle drive versions, with or without retarder
PTO kit in cube or angle drive version for tractor units with Mercedes-Benz gearboxes, installed without chassis modification. The angle drive version is used where the standard unit does not fit because of the installation space or the gearbox design.
| Gearboxes | Mercedes-Benz gearboxes with or without retarder; shaft kit for G231+ and G281 gearboxes |
|---|---|
| Version | cube or angle drive |
| P81M1 unit | direct, 1:1, 800 Nm |
| P86M2 unit | offset, 1:1.57, 400 Nm |
Optional equipment (selection)
- G281 shaft kit (K681)
- G231+ shaft kit (K654)
- PTO switch, sensor
Typical tasks: tipper, moving floor and crane hydraulics, compressor drive on a Mercedes-Benz tractor unit.

PTO for Scania and Volvo gearboxes
Side or rear mounting, cube or angle drive
Side- or rear-mounted PTO kit for Scania tractor units, and a complete shaft and mounting kit for the new G33 gearbox. For Volvo tractor units, a cube or 1:1.3 angle drive kit for manual and automatic gearboxes, with or without retarder.
| Scania gearboxes | GRS895, GRS905, GRSO905; G33 (kit K728) |
|---|---|
| Scania installation | side or rear |
| Volvo version | cube or angle drive 1:1.3 |
| Volvo series | FM, FH, FL (angle drive kit) |
| P81V8 unit | direct, vertical output, 1:1, 800 Nm |
Optional equipment (selection)
- Volvo VT shaft kit (K639, K640)
- Scania ratio adapter kit (K644, K645, K646)
- Volvo mounting bolt kit (K802, K803)
Typical tasks: hydraulics for tippers, moving floors, concrete mixers, winches or cranes on Scania and Volvo tractor units.
Detailed product data sheetWhich gearbox does your tractor unit have?
Based on the gearbox type and the semi-trailer, we will tell you which PTO and which system fit, and how long installation takes.
What to know before choosing
Which PTO does my truck need?
It is determined by the gearbox make and type (for example ZF TraXon, Mercedes-Benz G281, Scania GRS905, Volvo VT) and whether there is a retarder or intarder. The installation space then decides between a direct (cube) and an offset (angle drive) version, and the driven equipment determines the torque and ratio. Based on the vehicle registration and the gearbox type plate data, PFS puts together the right kit.
What is the difference between a direct and an offset (angle drive) PTO?
A direct PTO has its output in line with the gearbox shaft, while the offset version moves the output to the side. The offset version is needed if there is no room for the pump behind the gearbox or a propshaft has to be connected.
How much torque can Interpump PTOs handle?
In the PFS range, the direct P81 units handle 800 Nm at a 1:1 ratio, the offset P86 units 350–400 Nm, and the P88Z6 unit, reinforced for continuous operation, 450 Nm at 1:1.8.
Can a compressor be driven from the PTO?
Yes. Shaft-driven compressors need a reinforced PTO for continuous operation with a step-up ratio, for example the Interpump P88Z6 (1:1.8, 450 Nm). PFS also supplies and installs compressors for silo vehicles.
Do you install the PTO?
Yes. In our Ercsi workshop we install the PTO together with the pump and the complete hydraulic system, and we also repair existing PTOs.
Let’s talk about your task!
Endre Füri, head of purchasing and parts sales at PFS, helps you choose the Interpump system, PTO or part that suits your vehicle and gearbox, and arranges the installation or service appointment.
